Roberto Bannura has been with Steven Holl Architects since 2007 and was named partner in 2018. He oversees the projects developed in the Beijing office, working closely with Steven Holl and the New York team in design matters, while taking charge of the overall client and consultant team management. Roberto received his degree of Architect and Urban Planner from the Universidad de Chile in 1995, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then continued his studies in Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile where he obtained a degree on Urban Economy in 1997. He has been the Associate-in-Charge for the Sliced Porosity Block in Chengdu, and the Project Director for Hangzhou Shan-Shui and the Ecology and Planning Museums in Eco-City Tianjin.

Molly Blieden joined Steven Holl Architects in 1992, and has been involved in the financial and contractual management and shaped the public presentation of most projects in the office during that time. She also has maintained an independent career as a practicing artist and educator. Ms. Blieden received her BA from Princeton and her MFA from Rutgers University in 1992. She participated in the Whitney Museum Independent Studio Program in 1992-3.

Yvonne Fang received her Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard GSD and practiced as an urban designer with a focus on culture-centric, climate-responsive placemaking. Having extensive design research experience, she was awarded the H. Allen Brooks Travelling Fellowship by Dartmouth College in 2017. Yvonne joined Steven Holl Architects in 2023, where she crafts competition proposals, fosters client relationships, and manages design communications.

Completing work focussed on mass timber design, ecological building and a unity of the arts and architecture. Max interned for SHA in 2020 to work on the Ostrava Concert Hall before returning to the firm in 2022 as a Junior Architect.

Michael Haddy joined SHA in early 2015 and has since been in charge of developing and maintaining the firm’s state of the art prototyping and fabrication facility. Over the past few years he has been involved with many of the active projects at SHA, playing both architect and fabricator roles. His main research area is concentrated on interaction between digital fabrication methods and artistic craft, building and maintaining relationships with partnering fabricators and artists from all over the world. Many of the custom details the firm is known for originate in SHA shop such as lighting fixtures, castings, metals, glass, CNC millwork, 3D printed items, and much more. He holds a BA from Miami University and a Master of Architecture from University of Cincinnati’s DAAP.

Yining He joined Steven Holl Architects in the Fall of 2020. Yining holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Tongji University and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University. He won the 2nd place of TEAM20 Architecture & Urban Planning Graduation Projects competition in 2018. Steven Holl was born in 1947 in Bremerton, Washington. He graduated from the University of Washington and pursued architecture studies in Rome in 1970. In 1976 he attended the Architectural Association in London and in 1977 established STEVEN HOLL ARCHITECTS in New York City. Considered one of America’s most important architects, Steven Holl is recognized for his ability to blend space and light with great contextual sensitivity and to utilize the unique qualities of each project to create a concept-driven design. He specializes in seamlessly integrating new projects into contexts with particular cultural and historic importance. Steven Holl has been recognized with architecture’s most prestigious awards and prizes. Recently, Steven Holl received the 2014 Praemium Imperiale, the 2012 AIA Gold Medal, the RIBA 2010 Jencks Award, and the first ever Arts Award of the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Awards (2009). In 2012, Steven Holl received the Alumnus Summa Laude Dignatus Award from the University of Washington, and has received honorary degrees from Seattle University and Moholy-Nagy University in Budapest. In 2003 he was named Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). In 2002 the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, part of the Smithsonian Institute, awarded him their prestigious National Design Award in Architecture. In 2001 France bestowed the Grande Médaille d’Or upon him, for Best Architect of the Academy of Architecture; and in the same year Time Magazine declared him “America’s Best Architect” for his ‘buildings that satisfy the spirit as well as the eye’. Steven Holl is a tenured Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture and Planning. Jongseo Lee is a senior associate at Steven Holl Architects, and the associate in charge of all projects in Korea. Jongseo holds a M.Arch from Columbia University’s GSAPP, and a M.Arch and B.Arch in Architecture Engineering from Yongsei University in Seoul, Korea. He has been the project architect for numerous projects in the office including the Daeyang Gallery and House (Seoul, Korea), Sliced Porosity Block (Chengdu, China), envelope design and construction administration for the Kennedy Center Expansion (Washington, D.C.), the Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University (Princeton, USA), the Visual Arts Building at University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA), the Reid Building at Glasgow School of Art (Glasgow, UK) and the Institute for Contemporary Art at Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond, VA). He has acted as project designer on Linked Hybrid (Beijing, China), and has been on the project team of the Herning Museum of Contemporary Art (Herning, Denmark), Nanjing Sifang Art Museum (Nanjing, China), Horizontal Skyscraper-Vanke Center (Shenzhen, China), NYU Department of Philosophy (New York, NY), and the Beirut Marina and Town Quay (Beirut, Lebanon). Along with his built experience, Jongseo has led the team for several international competitions including WDPC (Seoul, Korea) and the Busan Cinema Complex (Busan, Korea). Currently, he is the associate in charge of Meander Housing (Helsinki, Finland) which he has overseen since the project’s competition phase.

Chris McVoy has been with Steven Holl Architects since 1993 and was made partner in 2000. He is responsible for overseeing the projects in the New York office, working closely with Steven Holl and clients to finalize the program, design, and budget, and coordinating and managing the full consultant team, including associate architects. He has been the partner-in-charge and co-designer for the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, the Whitney Water Purification Facility and Park, the Campbell Sports Center at Columbia University, and the Glasgow School of Art. He is currently partner-in-charge for the Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU, and the new Visual Arts Building at the University of Iowa. Chris McVoy received his Bachelors Degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia and his Masters of Architecture from Columbia University. He was honored with a Guggenheim Studentship in 1985; a William Kinne Travel Fellowship and an American Scandinavian Foundation Grant.

Yun Shi earned a Masters in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in 2013. Yun also holds a B.Arch from Beijing University of Technology and M.Arch from Syracuse University. She joined Steven Holl Architects in 2013. She is the project architect for IcarbonX Shenzhen and the winning competition for the Mumbai City Museum. Olaf Schmidt has been with Steven Holl Architects since 2002. He is the Associate in Charge of the Queens Library project for the Department of Design and Construction, and was Associate in Charge of the Campbell Sports Center at Columbia University in New York City, and the Knokke Heist Casino Development in Belgium. While at SHA he has been the Project Architect for the Residence at the Swiss Embassy in Washington (2006) and the Loisium Hotel in Austria (2005). Dimitra Tsachrelia has led the Hudson Valley office’s projects since 2019 and contributed to the design of academic and arts institutions since 2008. Dimitra coordinated the Hudson Valley Architectural Archive and Research Library Building (2019), realized the Snake Road Addition (2022), and is leading the designs for the Hudson L-House and ‘Z’ Space. She has led R&D projects including the Ex of IN House (2016), the competition for the Janacek Concert Hall in Ostrava (currently in construction documents), and worked on the Institute for Contemporary Art at Virginia Commonwealth University (2018), the Glasgow School of Art (2014), and the Campbell Sports Center (2013). She designed and coordinated the launch of the exhibition Steven Holl: Making Architecture on world tour since 2018.
Dimitra received her Diploma from the School of Architecture at Patras University. She obtained her MSADD with honors from Columbia University, GSAPP in 2008, where she co-teaches with Steven Holl as Adjunct Assistant Professor. She is a licensed architect in New York, holds the Living Future Accreditation for holistic sustainable design standards, and is a LEED Green Associate. She serves on the board of directors at the Steven Myron Holl Foundation.
