The Manchester House was completed in 1976, the first building designed by Steven Holl, and restored in 2022. The concept is the metaphor of an oyster shell with a grey stained cedar exterior and smooth white interior. The house is two squares in plan with two square courtyards—all proportions governed by the golden section.
With views of Seattle and Mount Rainier, the house is 40 minutes to downtown Seattle via foot ferry. The interior has been recently renovated, inclusive of new appliances, windows, and floors. The house has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, 2 patios, and 3 decks. There is ample parking and spacious grounds. The property has 100 feet of beach front and is adjacent to a 1920 restored cabin owned by the Holl family.
THE MANCHESTER HOUSE IS AVAILABLE TO RENT.
