THE JOY OF ARCHITECTURE COMES OUT OF THE CREATIVITY

Thank you to Durganand Balsavar, the Council of Architecture, and the +1,000 viewers who joined yesterday’s lecture “Air/Light/Greenspace: Post-COVID.”
“I believe that young people who are in school want something that reflects an optimism about the future… The power of an idea, that’s what is important. With that in mind, young architects–no matter what you’re doing–you should never be discouraged because you’re being creative. I’m here in my archives where about three-quarters of the models are unbuilt projects. They are like un-played musical scores. The joy of architecture comes out of the creativity.” – Steven Holl, June 17, 2021
Seen: Mumbai City Museum North Wing is envisioned as a sculpted subtraction from a simple geometry formed by the site boundaries. SHA won the international architectural competition, the first one held for a public building in Mumbai, in 2016. The project is currently on hold. The initiative will create the first major public-private partnership building in the city.
