Steven Holl’s Woven Watercolor collection on view at Hundred Mile through October 28th

Steven Holl’s Woven Watercolor carpet collection, designed for cc-tapis, is on view at Hundred Mile in Rhinebeck, NY through October 28th. The two carpets were originally designed for the Lewis Arts Complex at Princeton University and the Ex of IN House at ‘T’-Space in Rhinebeck. They are now available to purchase through the Hundred Mile showroom.
The “Morton Feldman Carpet” was inspired by American composer Morton Feldman’s musical scores. One of nine custom carpets designed for Princeton University, the original Morton Feldman carpet sits in the Music Building. The exhibit at Hundred Mile displays the carpet next to watercolors, study models, and samples for the Lewis Arts Complex and the nine rugs.
The “Ex of IN Carpet” is a byproduct of the firm’s ongoing research and development project Exploration of “IN”. Started in June 2014, the project questions the current clichés of architectural language by studying the intersections of spherical spaces through hand drawing, computer rendering, and physical 3-D forms. The show exhibits process materials of the firm’s research, including models of the Ex of IN House.
