Steven Holl Architects receives two Progressive Architecture Awards

Steven Holl Architects has been honored twice for the 64th Annual Progressive Architecture Awards held by ARCHITECT Magazine. The award recognizes unbuilt projects demonstrating overall design excellence and innovation.

Maggie’s Centre Barts, in construction opening December this year, was awarded the program’s top honor.

“I think it’s very beautiful—I love this translucent solution, and the color coming through. I thought it was very poetic.” – juror Enrique Norten, Hon. FAIA

Hunters Point Community Library, also in construction, opening Fall this year, was recognized with a citation.

“Amidst the nothingness of the Long Island City riverfront, this project is really special. It’s a refreshing new way of looking at a library.” – juror Enrique Norten, Hon. FAIA

Steven Holl Architects has now been the recipient of this award 12 times over its 40 year history. This also marks the third time we have the honor of receiving two awards in the same year. We are so thankful to receive this distinction from the Jury and continue our mission to push the limits of architectural practice into the future.
