Reid Building, Glasgow School of Art, is featured on the cover of CFSA’s special issue on university architecture. Steven Holl Architects’ competition-winning design fought to reuse the existing Assembly Building with the Student Union, against local planning recommendations to tear it down, ultimately refurbishing and saving the historic building. The new Reid Building, realized in 2014, enhanced the studio and teaching spaces while increasing the school’s publicly accessible galleries.
