Ginkgos are the earth’s oldest tree species and one of the hardiest species as well and therefore suitable for urban areas. Their leaves turn golden yellow in November and hang quite late in the season, sometimes falling all at once on a single day.

SHA has incorporated Gingko trees into the design at many of our projects’ sites, including at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Winter Visual Arts Center at Franklin & Marshall College, and at the REACH Expansion for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
