Steven Holl to Receive Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts Degree from Bard College

Steven Holl will be awarded with an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Bard College during the 159th Commencement Ceremony on May 25th.
A liberal arts college in Annandale-on-Hudson, Bard was founded in 1860 and is led by president Leon Botstein. The school seeks to address central, enduring questions facing succeeding generations through a rigorous course of study reflecting diverse traditions of scholarship, research, speculation, and artistic expression. Students engage philosophies of human existence, theories of human behavior and society, the making of art, and the study of the humanities, science, nature, and history.
The list of recipients of honorary degrees is equally diverse and interdisciplinary. Steven Holl is joined by musicologist V. Kofi Agawu, historian Philip J. Deloria, computer scientist Margaret Heafield Hamilton, and artist Carolee Schneemann.
