Steven Holl Architects Wins Three Awards at AIA NY 2007 Design Awards

New York City, February 14th 2007 — On Monday February 12th Steven Holl Architects was awarded three of the ten awards in the architecture category for the 2007 Design Awards from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) New York Chapter.

The New Residence at the Swiss Embassy – Washington, D.C. (completed in September 2006 and designed with Rüssli Architekten A.G.) and the Higgins Hall Center Section at the Pratt Institute – Brooklyn, NY (completed in September 2005) both won Honor Awards. The School for Art & Art History at the University of Iowa – Iowa City (completed in September 2006) which recently received a national AIA Institute Honor Award, won the Merit Award.

The jury composed of Daniel Hanganu (Montreal), and Massimiliano Fuksas (Rome) based their decisions on “quality of design; resolution of the program or idea; and innovation, thoughtfulness, and technique.” The Center for Architecture will host a public exhibition of the winning projects from April 12 through July 17th, 2007.

On June 9th Steven Holl Architects’ addition to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art will open to the public.
