Susan Wides

Susan Wides (b. Cincinnati, Ohio) has directed ‘T’ Space, a cultural project of the Steven Myron Holl Foundation (SMHF) in the woodlands of Rhinebeck, NY since its inception in 2010. Susan has curated over 30 ‘T’ Space exhibitions, including Ann Hamilton (2023), Torkwase Dyson (2023), Ai Weiwei, Martin Puryear, Tatiana Bilbao, and Neil Denari, as well as their publications. For the “Synthesis of the Arts” series uniting architecture, art, poetry, and music, Susan selects poets and musicians, among them Cathy Park Hong and David Behrman. On the ‘T’ Space Reserve art trail, Susan organized site-specific installations with Richard Nonas and Arlene Shechet. Susan directs development for SMHF, a 501c3 non-profit, and oversees communications. In 2023, Susan initiated the community education program for local underserved youth.

Susan is a photography-based artist—nature and perception are driving forces of her work. Her work has been shown in over 25 solo exhibitions, including The Hudson River Museum and Galerie Urbi et Orbi, and over 80 group exhibitions. Susan’s work resides in 20 public collections, among them The Brooklyn Museum, International Center of Photography, and La Bibliothèque Nationale. She is widely published and lectures frequently. Susan received a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from Indiana University.
