In the center of Richmond at the intersection of Broad and Belvidere Streets, the Institute for Contemporary Art at Virginia Commonwealth University was realized April 21, 2018. A celebration of the five-year anniversary of the ICA on April 21, 2023 was a joyful public event. New architecture, aiming at the future, may act as a kind of community condenser, bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together.
